Synopsis
Nothing has influenced Brant County more than the Grand River. From the Attawandarons, to the Six Nations, to the Europeans - the Grand has produced incredible storeis of triumph and corruption. Led by Mohawk Pine Tree, Thayendanegea (Joseph Brant), the Six Nations left their ancestral territory in New York state for the river valley in 1784. It would not be long before Brant was joined here by equally notable personalities, including: Alexander Graham Bell, Emily Stowe, and Pauline Johnson. The Ontario Visual Heritage Project: Brant explores the history of the Southwestern Ontario County of Brant, the city of Brantford, and the Six Nations.
This project was produced in cooperation with the Living History Multimedia Association, with funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. It is part of the Ontario Visual Heritage Project.
